01Can I use this as my only French horn mouthpiece?
Not recommended. The small cup and throat favor the high register and make low notes thin. Most players keep a 30 or 31 as their main piece.
02What's the difference between the 28 and the Farkas 30?
The 30 is the original Farkas Model with a wide rounded rim and fairly deep cup for all-around playing. The 28 is smaller and shallower for high work.
03Does it fit a standard double horn?
Yes, it's a standard French horn shank. But the 28 is designed around descant horn, so on a double it will feel small and bright.
04Will gold plating change my sound?
Barely. Plating affects feel more than tone — softer and warmer on the lip. Cup diameter, depth and throat do the tonal work.
