Same .647" cup and 27 throat. The 10A4a uses a tight a-backbore for upper-register support; the 10A4 uses a standard c-backbore and blows freer.
02Is this a good first mouthpiece?
No. The shallow A cup is built for high playing and makes the low register harder to control. A student is better served by a standard C cup like the 13.
03Will this help me play higher?
It makes the upper register easier to sustain and reduces fatigue. It doesn't add range you haven't built. Tone below the staff gets thinner as the trade.
04Does it fit any Bb trumpet?
Yes, it's a standard trumpet shank and drops into a normal trumpet receiver.
