01Can I use this on a trumpet?
No. Cornet mouthpieces use a shorter, smaller-diameter shank that won't seat correctly in a trumpet receiver. You need a trumpet mouthpiece for a trumpet.
02What does an 18 throat actually do?
It's a considerably larger bore than the 26 and 27 throats used on standard trumpet pieces. Less resistance, more air required, more volume available at the top of your dynamic range.
03Which size if I currently play a 3C?
The V3, which is cross-referenced to a 3C rim. If you want more width, the V2 corresponds to a 1.5C and the V150 to a 1.25C.
04Why does this cost more than a Standard Series piece?
Two reasons: it's a Symphony Series design rather than Standard Series, and gold plating adds cost over silver. The Standard Series silver pieces in the same brand start well under a hundred dollars.
