FenderCustom Shop Tomatillo Telecaster Single-Coil Pickup Set - Black and Chrome

The Fender Custom Shop Tomatillo Telecaster pickup set blends the unmistakable snap and articulation of a classic Telecaster with the warmth, openness and touch sensitivity of a carefully underwound Custom Shop design. Crafted around Alnico 2 magnets and potted in shellac, the Tomatillos deliver clean, chime-rich tones with a smooth, expressive response that rewards every nuance of your playing. An open-coil neck pickup adds extra high-end sparkle, giving the set exceptional balance across both pickup positions while preserving the classic character that has defined Telecaster tone for generations. Alnico 2 Design for Sweet, Articulate Tele Tone The Tomatillo pickups combine smooth-sounding Alnico 2 magnets with a slightly underwound design to preserve the natural dynamics and clarity of a classic Telecaster while producing a warmer, more expressive attack. Shellac potting helps resist unwanted feedback without diminishing the pickups' lively high-end response, and enamel-coated magnet wire enhances warmth and midrange presence. An open-coil neck pickup contributes additional sparkle, while staggered bridge pole pieces maintain balanced string-to-string output. Traditional fiber bobbins and period-correct cloth-covered lead wire complete the Tomatillo pickup set that reflects the meticulous attention to detail expected from the Fender Custom Shop.
