Independent shopping perspective
The Korena take
The black Badass TK-7817 OGT set is aimed at Squier and Fender basses with a 4-in-line arrangement, retaining a classic open-gear look while updating key working details. A cast base plate is used for greater stability and contact against the rear of the headstock. The hex-head tension screw is intended to reduce slip and provide a smoother tuning feel, and the slightly longer key stem gives extra clearance around the headstock.
Strong match
Who this is for
- Replacing 4-in-line tuners on a Squier or Fender bass while retaining a classic visual direction.
- Headstocks where additional clearance around the tuner keys is useful.
Consider the trade-offs
When to look elsewhere
- Bass headstocks that are not arranged for four tuners in line.
