01Will this fit my trombone?
Only if your slide has a small shank receiver, which is standard on medium and medium-large bore tenor trombones. Large bore tenors and bass trombones use the large shank version.
02What's the difference between the 50 and the 51?
The 51 is slightly wider at 1.010 inches with a large bowl-shaped cup and a J throat, aimed at large bore tenor and orchestral playing. The 50 is tighter and more general-purpose.
03Can I use this on bass trombone?
No. Bass trombones take a large shank, and Schilke's bass sizes run from the 58 up to the 60, all far wider than 1.00 inch.
04Is the 17/64 throat harder to play?
It takes more air than the 15/64 throat used on most of the line, but it gives back a freer blow and more room at volume. Most tenor players adapt quickly.
