01What's the difference between the D1, D2, and D3?
All share the deep bowl cup and 24 throat. The number is the rim diameter — D1 is the widest, D2 and D3 step down from there. D150 sits at the 150 rim size.
02Is a D cup too dark for jazz?
For big band lead, yes — it lacks the shallow cup brilliance that cuts through a section. For ballads, small group, or section work where blend matters, it works.
03Will this help my high register?
No. Deep cup and wide rim work against the upper register. A shallower A or B cup in a smaller diameter is the direction for range.
04Does it fit any Bb trumpet?
Yes, it uses the standard trumpet shank. It will not fit cornet, flugelhorn, or trombone receivers.
